Whose music is it?

We make a score of what you give us. Whether you may share that score depends on who wrote the music.

Music in the public domain

Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Joplin, and anything else whose composer died long enough ago is free for anyone. Transcribe it, print it, sell it, teach from it.

Music still in copyright

Most songs written in the last century are owned by a publisher. Writing one out for your own practice is a normal, private use. Posting the score online, selling it, or performing it in public for money generally needs a licence from the publisher. We cannot give you that licence.

Links to videos

When you paste a link, you confirm that you have the right to use that recording. Video sites have their own terms about downloading, and you are responsible for keeping to them. If a link cannot be fetched, upload the file instead.

Takedown requests

If you hold rights in music and believe content stored here infringes them, write to [email protected] with the work, where you saw it, and your contact details. We will remove it promptly and tell the account holder.
